Unlike smoke agents, which require strict air-tight conditions, dust pesticides can be effectively used even if there are minor leaks in greenhouse films. There is no need to mix the pesticide with water, which helps prevent an increase in humidity inside the shed—important for reducing the risk of fungal diseases. The fine dust particles spread evenly throughout the tree canopy, ensuring excellent coverage and control. Common applications include 10% mancozeb powder for controlling grape downy mildew, 5% chlorothalonil powder for managing strawberry gray mold, and 12% beneficial powder for preventing apricot diseases such as leaf spot and red spot. It's recommended to apply the dust agent at the early stages of disease development or before symptoms appear. A typical dosage is 1 kg per mu (approximately 667 square meters), applied once every 7–10 days. In severe cases, it can be used up to 4–5 times consecutively. For best results, dusting should be done during early morning or late evening when wind is minimal. Begin from the far end of the greenhouse and move along the walkway at a steady pace. There's no need to enter the rows; simply shake the nozzle of the duster side to side while spraying. After completing the application, make sure to close the greenhouse doors to maintain optimal conditions for the treatment.
