How does calla lily potted and conserved?

Zantedeschia, commonly known as calla lily, is a beautiful potted plant that offers both attractive foliage and stunning flowers. It's also widely used as a cut flower in floral arrangements. When growing Zantedeschia in pots, it's essential to use well-draining sandy loam soil and incorporate sufficient base fertilizer. A mix of well-composted cake meal and pig manure makes an excellent base fertilizer. After the first bloom in early spring or autumn, new shoot buds that develop around the rhizomes of the mother plant should be carefully removed and planted individually in pots. Once planted, water thoroughly, place the pot in a shaded area, and maintain consistent moisture. After the shoots begin to grow, move the plant to a partially shaded spot with diffused light—avoid direct sunlight or complete shade. In addition to the base fertilizer applied before planting, you should apply liquid fertilizer every 20 days during the growing season. You can use a mixture of composted cake meal and fertilizer, or opt for a balanced NPK liquid fertilizer every 10 days. Be careful not to pour fertilizer directly into the leaf sheaths, as this can cause root rot. Regular watering is also necessary during the growing period. In the morning and evening, mist the ground around the pots to increase humidity. For cleaner and healthier leaves, gently wipe them with a damp sponge once every 5-7 days. When the foliage becomes dense, remove some leaves to make it easier to harvest the flower stems. Calla lilies typically begin blooming around the Spring Festival, from March to May. After flowering, promptly remove spent blooms and flower buds to conserve energy for future growth. The blooming period can last until May. From May to July, the plant enters a dormant phase. During this time, reduce watering and create a drier environment. Once the leaves turn completely yellow, dig up the bulbs, dry them slightly, and store them in a cool, well-ventilated area until fall, when they can be replanted. If you choose not to let the plant go dormant, you can keep it indoors from late June onward, placing it in a fully shaded but well-ventilated space. Mist the plant 2-3 times daily during the hottest parts of the day to lower the temperature. As long as daytime temperatures remain below 30°C, the calla lily can continue blooming. Before the Cold Dew season in October, bring the plant indoors and control watering to maintain a temperature above 10°C. Once a week, rinse the leaves with lukewarm water to keep them clean and vibrant. If the air is dry, mist the surrounding area to increase humidity. Ensure adequate lighting during winter to support healthy growth. To encourage early spring blooms, apply a diluted fertilizer 1–2 times in December. During the growing season, poor ventilation can lead to aphid infestations. If pests appear, spray a 1500–2000 dilution of 40% omethoate, and improve air circulation around the plant to prevent further issues. With proper care and attention, your calla lilies will thrive and reward you with beautiful blooms year after year.
