Fermentation typically takes 1–3 days, starting with bubbles and progressing to a more acidic, koji-like aroma. 2. **Vitamin Supplementation** When feeding ducks, add 25 g of vitamins per 100 kg of fermented material to avoid deficiencies that could hinder growth. 3. **Precautions** Before fermentation, there's no need to remove hard objects like toothpicks, fish bones, glass, or plastic bags. However, these must be removed before fermentation completes, as they can cause intestinal damage if eaten by ducks. Bones and raw meat in the water do not need to be removed—they can be directly fermented. The material must contain both plant and animal matter, such as rice and porridge, to support microbial growth. Many users have found this method very effective. 7. **Storage and Hygiene** Once fermented, the material must be sealed and stored. With proper sealing, it can last up to six months without degradation. After feeding, clean and disinfect the fermentation tank immediately. Ensure the fermentation area is cleaned and disinfected after each batch to prevent bacterial growth. 8. **Duck Feed Formulation** A reference formula for duck mash includes local ingredients like wheat bran, rice bran, wheat flour, sorghum flour, hay powder, green fodder, peanut bran, vegetable oil cake, sunflower cake, sesame cake, limestone, meat meal, and bone meal. These can replace or supplement standard feed materials. For example, local protein sources can substitute for commercial ones, but balance must be maintained.
