How to fatten sheep in autumn

In early autumn, as forage grass begins to produce seeds, it's important to manage grazing and feeding carefully. During this time, the grass may become less nutritious, so proper supplementation is necessary. In late fall, ensure that sheep are kept warm, and avoid grazing on fields that have recently been treated with pesticides, as this can be harmful. During the day, provide sheep with adequate feed, and at night, offer a moderate amount of high-quality, palatable feed. For pregnant ewes, during mid-pregnancy, feed 0.2 to 0.3 kg of concentrate daily, increasing to 0.45 to 1 kg in the later stages. Each month, add 0.5 kg of concentrate, and in the middle of the feeding period, increase it to 0.3 kg per day. Ensure they receive about 0.7 kg of feed daily to maintain their health. To improve fertility, focus on mating management and enhance the physical condition of ewes. In the fall, provide more green forage or silage to help maintain their body condition. For ewes that are not showing estrus, administer 500–2000 international units of chorionic gonadotropin, up to 1–3 times, to induce heat. To boost ram fertility, ensure a balanced diet rich in protein, vitamins, and plenty of clean water. Avoid feeding sheep on an empty stomach with cold water, as this can cause digestive issues. Prevent stress in pregnant sheep by avoiding sudden movements or aggressive activities, especially in crowded areas or during feeding times. Do not vaccinate sheep near the end of pregnancy to avoid complications. Before breeding, ensure all sheep are vaccinated against common infectious diseases. Keep the sheep house clean by removing leftover feed regularly, maintaining dry and sanitary conditions, and disinfecting frequently. Brush the sheep regularly to stimulate blood circulation and strengthen their immunity. If any sheep shows signs of illness, treat it promptly to prevent the spread of disease.
