Life, Through New Eyes

Last night, I started writing this post but found myself nodding off after just a few sentences. It made me think about the importance of listening to my body and prioritizing moments with my kids. So, I decided to call it a night and snuggled under the cozy warmth of my down comforter.
Rewinding to today, I was reminded of how precious these small moments are. This morning, our six-year-old daughter asked her dad to walk her to school and accompany her inside the classroom. As we discussed this, I realized how fleeting opportunities like these can be. She might not always ask, and they won't last forever.
Walking the kids to P.E. today, I snapped a quick photo on my phone. [Image description: A candid shot of kids heading to class.]
Later, during storytime in her kindergarten class, I noticed a shift in perspective. There were 19 little ones, all eager and full of life, learning to tie shoelaces and navigate friendships. Each child carried their own unique challenges and joys. One little girl giggled as we tied bows, telling me she was "so cute as a baby." Her smile brightened the room.
Another child was teary-eyed after a tumble. Offering a gentle hug, I wasn't sure if it was "perfect," but I knew she needed comfort. In a world that often teaches us to say "no," I'm trying to focus on saying "yes" to the right things—like showing kindness to others.
As I waved goodbye to the security guard today, I felt a wave of gratitude—and a silent prayer for my daughter's safety. Life moves quickly, and it's easy to miss the beauty in everyday moments. Let's make sure we don’t.

Thinking back, I realize how much these interactions shape us. Saying "yes" doesn't mean overcommitting—it means choosing wisely. Whether it's a hug or simply being present, these actions matter. And sometimes, the best answer is the simplest one.
