Pre-use adjustment of rotary cultivator
1. Level adjustment. Begin by removing the rotary cultivator from the ground and inspecting the height of the knife tips at both the left and right ends. Ensure they are aligned with the blade’s height. If not, use the right lifting lever to make necessary adjustments for a balanced setup.
2. Front and rear horizontal alignment. Lower the rotary tiller to the desired depth and adjust the length of the upper adjustment rod (also known as the central rail) so that the intermediate transmission gearbox remains level. Ideally, the central transmission output shaft should be parallel to the ground. This ensures smooth operation and even soil penetration.
3. Enhance height adjustment. When raising the cultivator, ensure the gimbal does not tilt more than 30 degrees. Typically, the knife tip should be about 20 centimeters above the ground when in the raised position. During field operations, it's important to set a maximum lifting limit to prevent over-raising and potential damage to the equipment.
4. Adjusting soil-breaking performance. Normally, the speed of the machine is used to control the effectiveness of soil breaking. However, if the rotary cultivator is equipped with an intermediate transmission box, you can also fine-tune the performance by adjusting the spindle speed. This allows for better control depending on soil conditions and crop type.
5. Cultivation adjustment. When using a unit or tractor with a hydraulic system that allows for both force and position adjustments, always use the position adjustment feature. Avoid using force adjustment, as this may cause unnecessary stress and damage to the rotary tiller. Once the desired tillage depth is achieved, secure the position adjustment handle with a limit screw to maintain consistency across all passes.
Proper adjustment of your rotary cultivator is essential for efficient and safe operation. Taking the time to follow these steps will help extend the life of your equipment and improve overall performance in the field. Always refer to the manufacturer's manual for specific instructions related to your model.
