Apricot flower chicken rearing management

1. During the rearing period, chickens require ample space to move around and stay healthy. Typically, the area surrounding the broiler house is used as an outdoor space for their activities. The recommended density for free-range activity is at least 4 to 5 birds per square meter. Additionally, there should be a minimum distance of 200 meters between two chicken sheds. When moving chickens to the broiler house, it's important to let them spend one day and one night in the new shed before releasing them outside. Otherwise, some birds may refuse to return to the shed, which can lead to management difficulties and health issues. 2. Considering the natural behavior of chickens—being active during the day and resting at night—it’s beneficial to allow them to roam freely in open areas when the weather permits. This not only improves their physical condition but also reduces stress. At the end of the day, they should be guided back into the broiler house for rest and protection from predators or harsh weather conditions. 3. Broiler houses must maintain good ventilation and air circulation to ensure a healthy environment for the chickens. It's important to clean the litter on the floor every two days to prevent the buildup of waste and reduce the risk of disease. Feed and water should always be available in sufficient quantities. To avoid contamination, feeders and waterers should be placed outside the shed or in designated areas near the entrance. 4. A "all-in, all-out" management system is recommended for broiler farming. After each batch of chickens is moved out, the entire facility—including the sheds, surrounding areas, and equipment—must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. The process involves spreading lime on the ground, spraying disinfectants such as Tetri-Ling or 100 Toxicity inside the building, and cleaning all tools and containers with a potassium permanganate solution. This ensures a hygienic environment for the next batch of chickens and helps prevent disease outbreaks. By following these practices, farmers can significantly improve the welfare, growth, and productivity of their poultry while maintaining a safe and sustainable farming environment.
