In the rainy season every year, eggplants are highly susceptible to diseases such as blight and rot, which can lead to severe plant death. For foliar and fruit protection, you can use a mixture of fungicides, zinc sulfate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, urea, or even brown sugar to spray on the plants. This helps strengthen the plant's resistance and reduce the risk of infection.
When it comes to chemical control, options like thiophanate-methyl (diluted 1000–2000 times), chlorothalonil (500–800 times), or 80% mancozeb (400–500 times) are effective. It’s recommended to spray every 7 days, and in severe cases, you may need to apply the treatment 3–4 times. Be sure to focus the spraying on the fruits and lower parts of the plant where disease tends to develop first. Regular monitoring and timely intervention are key to maintaining healthy eggplant crops during the wet season.
