As the golden hues of autumn began to fade, we found ourselves wrapped up in the simple joys of a cozy afternoon. The three of us—two little ones and me—sat together, sipping hot cocoa laced with marshmallows, the warmth seeping into our bones as we shared stories and laughter. And then, like a gift from above, we stumbled upon a special new Christmas book—a treasure to be cherished and read aloud during the upcoming season. With the book safely tucked under his arm, our little adventurer couldn't resist the twinkling lights of the tree in the town square. We circled it gleefully, chasing each other through the crisp air until we paused to marvel at its grandeur. As snowflakes drifted lazily down, they turned the world into a winter wonderland, and we reveled in the magic of the moment, trying—and failing—to catch them on our tongues. Later, as twilight settled in, one stray ornament caught everyone's eye. For a brief spell, it became more than just a decoration; it was a toy, a companion in our games. Eventually, though, it was gently laid beside the tree, marking the end of another delightful chapter. This season of fall was slipping away faster than we could blink, and I realized how fleeting these moments truly are. There was only one more entry in my "days of fall" series, and soon enough, winter would arrive with its own set of wonders. But for now, I vowed to soak up every last drop of autumn's beauty, to cherish each laugh, each story, and each shared cup of cocoa.
