Baidu confirms Wu Enda's departure: he has led medical brain and Merlot doctors and other projects
At noon on March 22, Baidu's chief scientist, Andrew Ng, published an open letter on the personal media platform Media and other personal social platforms such as Weibo and Twitter, announcing that he would leave Baidu and open a new chapter in the field of artificial intelligence.
Baidu also announced that it will further integrate Baidu core technologies including NLP, KG, IDL, Speech, Big Data, etc. to form Baidu AI Technology Platform System (AIG), and appointed Bai Hai Vice President Wang Haifeng as AI Technology Platform System (AIG). The general manager was promoted to a member of Estaff and turned to Baidu Group President and Chief Operating Officer Lu Qi.
In the open letter, Wu Enda praised the research and development progress and technical strength of Baidu artificial intelligence, and praised Li Yanhong as "the best CEO in the field of global artificial intelligence."
According to the information, Wu Enda is a Chinese American. He is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at Stanford University and the director of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. It is also one of the most authoritative scholars in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Wu Enda joined Baidu in May 2014 as the chief scientist of Baidu and was responsible for the leadership of Baidu Research. Among them, the medical- related Baidu medical brain plan has entered the stage of landing.
According to Wu Enda's internal letter, Baidu is also incubating some very promising technologies, and the artificial intelligence dialogue interactive robot Mei Le medical in the medical field is among them.
