The State Food and Drug Administration is studying the revision of the drug management law

Recently learned from the National People's Congress Educational, Scientific and Cultural Health Committee that at present, the State Food and Drug Administration is working on a revision of the drug management law.

At the Fourth Session of the Eleventh National People’s Congress held in March last year, 194 delegates including Xu Jinglong, Xie Zilong, Sun Jianguo, Yang Rongya, and Cao Shujie proposed six motions proposing to amend the Drug Administration Act and formulate monopoly drugs and orphan drugs (treatments rarely seen Disease drug) Management Act.

The Education, Science, Culture, and Welfare Commission believes that the issues raised by the representative bills reflect the new situations and new problems that the Drug Administration Law has implemented in the past decade in practice, and it is of great significance to improve the legal system for drug supervision. The revision of the Drug Administration Law has been included in the legislative plan for the 11th National People's Congress Standing Committee. It is suggested that the relevant departments expedite the process of research and verification, pay close attention to drafting a revised draft of the Drug Administration Law, and study issues such as drug monopoly and orphan drugs in the amendments, and submit it to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for consideration.
