Bracken cultivation techniques

(1) Excavation rhizomes The underground parts of wild ferns are shallow, and the rhizomes generally grow at a depth of 10-15 cm, which can be 7-8 cm long each year. In the middle of April, dig up the roots from the mountains. The highest yield of rhizomes is 14-16 cm long. When excavating rhizomes, the soil attached to the rhizome should be kept as much as possible, which is beneficial to the survival and continued development of rhizomes. (2) The native place of Bracken pteridophytes is under the woods rich in humus. It is naturally good for fertilizer and is suitable for the growth of soil loose zones. Therefore, before the bed is made, sufficient base fertilizer is used, preferably decomposed pig manure, followed by horse dung, 75,000 kilograms per hectare, and turned into the depth of 20 cm below the bed. (3) Planting method The bed is made from north to south, with a bed width of 100 cm, and a small ditch of 12 cm horizontally along the bed of 15 cm. The rhizomes of bracken are placed in the trenches and buried in the trenches. As the fern grows like water and grows in the undergrowth, there is a tendency to grow in shade. Therefore, after the roots have been planted, they must be covered with straw to moisten the shade. Finally, a shaded net with a width of 120 cm is placed on the net. (4) Field management After spraying and harvesting, water should be sprayed regularly to keep the soil moist, especially in spring drought areas. Water should be sprayed on the bed. After the summer spores are scattered to keep the soil moist, so that spores germinate. The grass that had been planted that year was rotted, and the next spring was to be covered with a layer of water. The water spray began in early April each year to promote early budding. Lighting is an important factor in the growth and development of bracken. The light is too strong, the cells are stretched, the petiole is short, and the food value is low; when the light is weak, the petiole is greenish, the photosynthesis is poor, the accumulation of photosynthetic products is insufficient, and the quality is poor. The appropriate light intensity is 10,000-13,000 lux. Therefore, in the field management, light intensity is adjusted in time with a shading net according to changes in sunshine and weather. Greenhouses can also receive high yields by controlling the light intensity with the length of time the curtain is exposed. (5) Production of bracken in protected areas In order to increase the product value of bracken and increase income, it is also possible to produce off-season vegetables. With reference to the above methods, the production of bracken in greenhouses and the use of plastic sheds in bracken conservation grounds before the land is frozen can be marketed during the New Year and Spring Festival to seize the market and add value.
