Zucchini melons refer to the phenomenon that the young fruit of the zucchini grows green and yellow, becomes thin and soft when the female flower of the zucchini is opened within 3 to 4 days after opening, and the fruit does not expand or swell, the surface loses luster, the apex shrinks, and finally it rots or falls off. Squash gourd is the most common problem in the cultivation of greenhouses, which is the most problem for farmers. The main cause of melon production is due to unfavorable environmental conditions and imbalance in nutrient supply. By taking the following measures, it can effectively prevent pumpkins and cucurbits.

1. Select the appropriate variety. Zucchini is a cross-pollination crop, and its flowering period requires very strict environmental conditions. However, the sensitivities of different varieties to temperature and light conditions are different. Some endogenous hormones are produced, and the cultivars with strong parthenocarpy ability are relatively few. Therefore, in order to prevent the use of saplings, single and strong varieties such as Lvbao can be used.

2. Appropriate sparse fruiting. In the cultivation of courgettes in the greenhouse, due to the environmental conditions conducive to differentiation of female flowers, or the strength of the varieties themselves, the young juveniles end up with too many knots and even a few melons. As a result, young melons compete for nutrition and cause melons. Therefore, when it is found that there are too many melons, artificial fruiting and fruit thinning can be carried out so that the remaining young melons can receive adequate nutrient supply.

3. Reasonably adjust the temperature of the shed. The optimum temperature for the growth and development of summer cucurbit is 18-25°C. If the temperature is too high, especially when the night temperature is too high, it will lead to increased respiration, increased nutrient consumption, and cause melon. If the temperature is too low, photosynthesis and root absorption capacity will be reduced, resulting in insufficient nutrition to cause melon. Therefore, in the pumpkin squash period, the temperature in the shed must be adjusted. Generally, the temperature in the shed is controlled between 20 and 22°C during the day. If the temperature is higher than 25°C, the temperature should be properly vented. Stay at around 10-12°C during the night. Keep the temperature difference between day and night not less than 10 °C to meet the normal growth and development of summer squash.

4. Determine the appropriate density. Zucchini colonization density is too high, plants compete for nutrients between each other resulting in lack of nutrients and melon, colonization density is too small, it will affect the overall yield. The general planting density should be controlled at 2000 to 2500 plants/mu. When planting plants with a large row spacing, a row spacing of 80 cm, a small row spacing of 60 cm, and a plant spacing of 40 cm is appropriate.

5. Prevent gas hazards. In the cultivation of Zucchini in the greenhouse, if the fertilizer is improperly applied or is sterilized by fumigation with sulfur powder, it will often produce harmful gases such as NH3, NO2, and SO2. When the harmful gas accumulates to a certain extent, it will cause the Zucchini to suffer damage and cause the melon to grow. Therefore, the following measures must be taken to prevent the generation of harmful gases. 1 The organic fertilizer should be fully cooked before being applied to the shed. It is forbidden to spread nitrogen fertilizer in the shed, and it must be applied deep or flushed with water to prevent ammonia from evaporating. 2 Do not apply too much nitrogen fertilizer at one time to avoid NO2 gas production. 3 When fumigation with sulphur powder is used, it is generally carried out before planting. Avoid fumigation with sulphur powder during the growth of the zucchini, so as to avoid the generation of harmful SO2 gas.

6. Avoid plant growth. When zucchini appears to be in a trend of an impossibility, it suppresses reproductive growth and shows melons. Therefore, the balance between vegetative growth and reproductive growth can be adjusted by postponing top-dressing and watering periods and controlling the amount of nitrogen fertilizer. For plots that are too long and grow thin and have signs of leggy, 50 to 100 mg/kg of chlormequat can be sprayed to prevent leggy and promote normal fruit development.

7. Control the occurrence of gray mold. When the zucchini is dry-dyed by gray mold, it is immersed mainly in the female flowers that have been lost, and then spreads to the fruit, resulting in the soft and atrophy of the young melons. Therefore, we should strengthen the prevention of gray mold, do a good job indoor temperature and humidity management, try to avoid low temperature and high humidity conditions. 8. Harvest in time. If the zucchini is not harvested in time after ripening, the commodity melon will grow too much, which will affect the growth of the plant and the absorption of nutrients by newborns and young melons, which will lead to the emergence of new melons and melons. Therefore, the zucchini must be timely harvested after maturity, generally when the zucchini grows to 300 to 400 grams, it can be harvested, generally not more than 500 grams, but also according to local consumption habits to determine the harvesting standards.
