Efficient application of BT insecticides
BT insecticides, ie, Bacillus thuringiensis microbial insecticides, contain parasporal crystals and spores of toxin-killing pests, which are effective in killing insect pests and are difficult to produce drug resistance in use. However, in practical applications, due to the lack of mastery of methods, the use of results is not satisfactory. In order to improve the control effect of BT insecticides, the following requirements must be mastered:
First, master reasonable application concentration
Because the types of insect pests in greenhouses are different, the sensitivity to BT insecticides is also different, so the application concentration is not the same. Only a suitable concentration can be selected based on the sensitivity of pests to achieve good control. 500-1000 times solution can be used for cabbage caterpillar.
Second, determine the appropriate application time
The efficacy of BT insecticides is slower than that of chemical insecticides. Application time should be 2-3 days ahead of chemical insecticides, and the best effect is from egg hatching period to 1st instar larvae period.
Third, suitable temperature application
Spray BT insecticide to be optimistic about the temperature. When light intensity and air temperature are above 25°C, it is advisable to apply around 5 pm. Spraying the front and back of the blade when applying the medicine can improve the efficacy.
Fourth, scientific and rational mixing
In order to improve the control effect of pesticides, especially when pests occur, they can be mixed with various insecticides, but they should not be mixed with fungicides.
In the case of pest occurrence and a mixture of various pests, avermectin or CPT can be used, and BT plus insecticide can also be used to achieve dual purposes. In order to alleviate the resistance of insect pests to biological pesticides, BT, avermectin, and nicotine can be alternately used with chemical pesticides such as Ruijinte, Wanling and Citaibao to avoid crop resistance.
